Deadly Night is a stealth slasher game in a low-poly PS1 style, published by Puppet Combo's Torture Star Video label. Hitchhiker Carol stops at a strange roadside motel and ends up hunted by a relentless killer, hiding wherever she can to live until morning. It has multiple endings and plenty of sleaze and gore.

Deadly Night is a stealth horror game by Cubyte Games, released on Steam in September 2022 under Torture Star Video, the label of the Puppet Combo studio. The store sells it as a grindhouse-style slasher with low-poly, PS1-style visuals, and it carries the label's mix of 1980s video-nasty sleaze and violence.

Carol is down on her luck and hitchhiking across the country. She stops at a small roadside motel, where the owner and his guests leer at her and worse, and that is only the start. She is abducted and dropped into a bloody game of cat-and-mouse with a killer who wears a crude mask and carries a sickle.

You play in first person, moving through an abandoned ramshackle house, desolate farmland and a maze-like forest, and you survive by not being seen: hide in closets, under beds and in cabinets, and outwit the killer rather than fight him. Some stretches move into the memories and hallucinations of a traumatised mind. Several endings depend on what you do, including whether you can save the others.

It is aimed at adults. The store lists sickle killings, kidnapping, impalement, immolation, the death of children, nudity, sexual harassment and lo-fi sex scenes. Players who like Puppet Combo's Nun Massacre or Murder House will know the formula; it supports a gamepad.

How to play Deadly Night

Buy Deadly Night on Steam for Windows and start a new game.
Play Carol through the motel opening, talking to the people you meet.
Once the killer is hunting you, keep moving and look for closets, beds and cabinets to hide in.
Listen for his footsteps and wait until he passes before you leave a hiding place.
Search the house, farm and forest for what you need to escape, and replay for the other endings.
