What frightens A strong submarine earthquake draws an amateur diver and you, his apprentice, to investigate before officials arrive. Inside the sunken iron hull the corridors are dark, water bursts through the walls and floods the floor, and you work with a welding gun and a hammer while the title art shows a huge red eye watching from the dark.

Content: dark, enclosed spaces and flooding water, some realistic violence (from its game jolt age rating).

Sinking Iron is a short first-person underwater horror game by Lixian, released on Game Jolt in 2023. After a submarine earthquake, you go down as an amateur diver's apprentice to investigate a sunken iron wreck before officials arrive. Water breaks in through the walls as you work your tools, and its maker tags it Lovecraft and survival horror.

About Sinking Iron

Sinking Iron was made by Lixian, who also made Do It For Me and Late Night Mop. It was made in Unity and released in May 2023 as a pay what you want download for Windows.

The story is set up in a few lines. A strong submarine earthquake caught the attention of an amateur diver and his apprentice, who were nearby when it happened and decided to investigate before the officials arrived. You are the apprentice, and the maker wishes you good luck.

You play in first person inside a dark, rusted iron hull. You carry tools, switching between them with the mouse wheel and using them with a click: the screenshots show a welding gun and a heavy hammer, cold water spraying in through breaches in the walls, a corridor flooding toward an engine room door, and a red-lit room with chains over a pool of black water. The title art is a single huge red eye staring from the end of a corridor.

The maker tags it horror, spooky, short, Lovecraft and survival horror. It suits players who are uneasy around deep water and enclosed metal spaces, and who want a single tense dive rather than a long game.
