What frightens You swim through dark, flooded wrecks of a drug company's labs on the ocean floor hauling out corpses, with oxygen running down and creatures from the failed experiments waiting to kill you. Your submarine is blind, so the crew steers by sonar through open water where larger things lurk.
Content: blood, creatures attack and kill player characters.
Murky Divers is a co-op horror game for one to eight players on Steam. Your crew pilots a blind submarine to abandoned underwater labs, dives in to drag out the corpses of a drug company's failed experiments, and shreds them for credits while creatures stalk the wrecks and the dark water.
About Murky Divers
Murky Divers is a co-op game by the studio Embers, released on Steam in December 2024 and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox in June 2026. You work for Pharma Corps, and your job is to make its failed experiments disappear: dive to its abandoned labs on the ocean floor, remove every corpse, and destroy the evidence.
Each expedition starts in the submarine. The sub is blind, so whoever pilots it relies on sonar and stations to see, and the crew has to identify and avoid what lurks in the open ocean on the way. You can go alone or with a friend in the small sub, up to four in the regular sub, or five to eight on Steam in the large one. At each wreck, divers swim into procedurally generated labs with a caddie to drag bodies back, while the oxygen runs out faster than expected and the creatures inside are ready to kill.
Back on board, bodies go into a shredder for credits. You spend them on items such as a shopping cart or a scooter, upgrades like see-through vision, body part detectors and a grappling hook, and modules for greater depth and bigger nets. Diving suits unlock as you complete missions.
The tone is bright and darkly funny, with cartoon divers and garish colours, but the store page promises an uneasy atmosphere, 3D audio and thalassophobia, and the screenshots show toothy creatures and a giant eye in the deep. It sits beside Lethal Company and Content Warning as a job-based co-op horror game, swapping their moons and caves for the bottom of the sea. It suits groups who like their scares mixed with chaos and voice chat.

- Pilot the blind sub by sonar and stations toward an abandoned lab, avoiding what lurks in open water.
- Dive into the wreck and use your caddie to drag corpses back to the sub before your oxygen runs low.
- Destroy the bodies in the shredder to earn credits.
- Spend credits on items, upgrades and sub modules before the next expedition.

Tips
- Keep an eye on your oxygen; the store page warns it can run out quicker than you expect.
- Agree on who pilots and who dives, since the pilot sees only through sonar and needs the divers to talk.
- Upgrades such as body part detectors and the grappling hook make each dive shorter and safer.
- Stay within voice range of your crew; proximity chat means a diver who wanders off cannot be heard.
