What frightens Trapped in Corpus Studios, a cursed film campus whose horror movies bleed into reality, you fight off zombies and monsters by typing the words that appear over them, fast and without mistakes, while ammunition, food and inventory space run short in large, procedurally generated maps.
Content: gore, blood, jumpscares.
Blood Typers is a survival horror game played entirely with the keyboard. Alone or with up to three friends, you explore a procedurally generated film studio whose horror movies have come to life, typing words to shoot and strike zombies while managing scarce ammunition, food and inventory space.
About Blood Typers
Blood Typers is a game by Outer Brain Studios, released on Steam in February 2025. It is an homage to old-school survival horror in which everything you do, from moving and opening doors to aiming and fighting, is done by typing the words and commands on screen.
You are a crew member trapped at Corpus Studios, a movie campus that warps into a nightmare as its horror films spill into reality. Each level is a large procedurally generated map with locked doors and secrets to unlock, and each movie theme is bigger than the last, from the studio lots to a frozen outdoor set and a gothic manor. Target an enemy to reveal its hit words, then type them before it reaches you. One typo at the wrong moment can be fatal.
The survival side is classic: inventory space is limited, ammunition and healing are scarce, and supplies are shared when you play with others. A roster of characters with their own stats and perks changes how you approach a run, and difficulty settings for typing and for gameplay let both beginners and fast typists find the right pressure.
It is gory and campy in the way of B-movie horror, with tension coming from swarms closing in while your hands race. It suits players who enjoyed The Typing of the Dead and want an exploration-heavy survival horror game to play with friends.

Tips
- Set typing difficulty separately from gameplay difficulty if you are a slow typist.
- In co-op, share ammunition and food rather than everyone hoarding.
- Proximity voice chat means friends far away cannot hear you call for help; stay close in big fights.
