What frightens Three faceless, crawling intruders hunt you through a dark, rain-soaked house that is different every time. Your flashlight battery drains, the notes left behind say 'he is crawling close', and they find you in the dark, so you must set bear traps and board up doorways to last three days.

Content: flashing lights.

78 Hour Rain is a free first-person survival horror game by Signol_Games, set in a procedurally generated house. Three faceless intruders come for you; you set bear traps, barricade doors and keep your flashlight charged to survive three days. It plays in the browser or on Windows and is hard by design.

About 78 Hour Rain

78 Hour Rain is a survival horror game by Colin Page, publishing as Signol_Games, released for Halloween 2020 and made in Unity. It opens with notes from someone who was followed for weeks by things hiding in the corners of their eyes, things no one believed in.

You are in a house, and the house is built anew every time you play. Three faceless intruders are coming. You have an axe, a flashlight whose battery runs down, bear traps you must wind, and boards to barricade doorways. Your job is to survive three in-game days, the 78 hours of the title, and avoid becoming another forgotten story of The House. Stay out of the darkness, the game warns: they can feel it.

The fear comes from the pressure. The rooms are dark and rain-soaked, rendered in low-poly 3D with grainy pixel textures, and the intruders are pale, crawling shapes that appear at the end of a corridor or in a doorway when your light is low. Scraps of handwritten notes, such as one ending 'I HATE HIM', fill in what happened to the last occupant. Its maker stresses that it is not a walking simulator: it takes skill and strategy, and players agree it is very hard, with intruders that can outrun you and kill you in two hits.

It is free to play in the browser or download for Windows. It suits players who like short, replayable survival horror where you prepare a defence, like Granny or Dungeon Nightmares, and who want a challenge more than a story. It contains flashing lights.
