What frightens You wake up locked in a dark house with Granny, a pale old woman with a bat who hears every dropped item and creaking floorboard and comes running, while bear traps and her pets wait in the dark.

Content: jumpscares, violence, blood.

A first-person horror escape game in which Granny keeps you locked in her house. You search the rooms for keys and tools to open the front door, or a way to start the car in the garage, while staying quiet, because Granny hears every sound. You have five days before she has had enough.

About Granny

Granny is a first-person horror game by DVloper, the studio name of Dennis Vukanovic. It came out on phones at the end of 2017 and reached Steam in November 2018. It is free on iPhone and Android with ads, and paid on PC.

You wake up in a dark room with a headache and a flashlight on the table. The main door of the house is covered with different locks, and you have to search the house for keys and other objects to open them. There is a second way out: an old car in the garage, if you can get it started and the garage door open.

The fear is sound. If you drop something or step on a creaking board, Granny comes running to where she heard it, bat in hand. You hide in wardrobes, under beds and in coffins, and watch for bear traps and her pets in the dark. You can find two kinds of weapon, but each only stops her for a while. Five difficulty levels run from a Practice mode without Granny to Extreme.

On Google Play alone it counts more than 500 million downloads, and it was followed by Granny: Chapter Two and Granny 3. It suits anyone who likes hide and seek horror played in short, tense attempts.

How to play Granny

  1. Pick a difficulty; Practice lets you explore the house without Granny.
  2. Take the flashlight and search the house room by room for keys, tools and other items.
  3. Carry items to the locks on the front door, or to the car in the garage, and use them.
  4. Move slowly and do not drop things; Granny comes to any noise she hears.
  5. When she is near, hide in a wardrobe, under a bed or in a coffin until she leaves.

Tips

  • Learn which floorboards creak and walk around them.
  • Put items down gently instead of dropping them in a hurry.
  • Watch for bear traps in dark corners before you run.
  • Use a weapon to buy time, not to stand and fight: she gets back up.
  • Try Practice mode first to learn the layout of the house.
