What frightens Each episode drops a group into a horror film setup, a family summer house, a cult film convention, a TV studio with a dark past, a wasteland, where killers and supernatural forces arrive; with little warning and no instructions you must work out how to survive, and failure means gory, permanent deaths.
Content: gore, violence, sexual content.
Lakeview Cabin 2 is a 2D pixel-art horror sandbox in four episodes, each a riff on a kind of horror film. You control a group of characters who must scavenge, set traps and plan to survive killers and stranger things, alone or with a friend on the same screen.
About Lakeview Cabin 2
Lakeview Cabin 2 is by Roope Tamminen, the sequel to Lakeview Cabin Collection from 2015. It entered Steam Early Access in 2020 and was released in full in October 2023, with a remake of the original Lakeview Cabin flash game included.
There are four episodes. In the first a family arrives at their summer house where something waits for them; in the second, a cult film convention at a hotel hides a murderer among the guests; the third digs into the secret of a classic TV series and a missing actor across several timelines; the fourth sends survivors across a wasteland to stop the evil behind it all. You switch between characters, pick up and combine whatever lies around, and try out plans until one works.
The game tells you very little. Its horror comes from not knowing what is coming or when, and from how quickly a careless plan ends in a gruesome death. The tone is dark and comic, full of nods to slasher and grindhouse films, but the threats are real and the store warns of violent and sexual scenes.
It suits players who like to experiment and fail, and who enjoy horror films and their clichés. Every episode has bonus modes, and two players can play all of it together.

Tips
- Explore every corner in the quiet hours; most tools are hidden in plain sight.
- Try combining odd objects, the game rewards experiments.
- Keep the group apart only if you have a plan; a lone character is easy prey.
- Play with a friend on one screen; two pairs of hands make the bigger plans easier.
