On PC: one of the PC horror games.
What frightens Up to eight Responders search dark, zombie-infested towns, a hospital and a bunker for supplies and objectives; the undead hear every sound, ammunition is scarce, a bite infects you until you find pills or a cure before you turn on your friends, and a character who dies is gone for good.
Content: gore, online voice chat.
No More Room in Hell 2 is a first-person co-op zombie survival horror game for up to eight players by Torn Banner Studios, the sequel to the free mod No More Room in Hell. Your Responders search dark, zombie-infested places in the north-eastern United States for supplies and objectives, with scarce ammunition, infection that can turn you, and death that is permanent.
About No More Room in Hell 2
No More Room in Hell 2 is the sequel to No More Room in Hell, the 2011 Source mod that became a free co-op zombie favourite. Torn Banner Studios lists its Steam release as August 11, 2026. Up to eight players deploy as emergency Responders into the north-east coast of the United States after the Kulon pandemic, through six maps from the streets of Lewiston, Maine, and Broadway in New York to Beaulieu Hospital and a government bunker.
In Scenario mode the team journeys into the outbreak, arms itself, completes objectives and extracts with supplies. The horde reacts to what you do: the dead keep their senses, so a gunshot or a shout in the dark can bring a crowd down on the group. Ammunition is scarce and weapons range from professional to improvised, so much of the fighting is a crowbar or an axe at close range.
The tension comes from what is at stake. A bite infects you and twists your mind, and you race to find pills or a gene therapy cure before your body rises against your friends. A Responder who dies is lost for good, along with their progress, while each successful extraction earns better starting gear. Steam reviews are split: players praise the atmosphere and call it a proper co-op Resident Evil at its best, while others complain of bugs, crashes that cost characters, and players who rush ahead.
It suits a group of friends who want slow, punishing zombie survival with permanent stakes, rather than Left 4 Dead's run-and-gun.

Tips
- Save your bullets; use melee on lone walkers and keep guns for emergencies.
- Stay with the group; a Responder who wanders off alone is the one who dies for good.
- If you are bitten, tell your team and find pills fast, before you turn on them.
Questions
Can you play No More Room in Hell 2 alone?
You can, but it is built for co-op with up to eight players, and Steam reviewers who tried it alone found it much harder and less fun.
Is No More Room in Hell 2 free like the first game?
No. The first game is a free mod; the sequel is a paid game on Steam.
Does death matter in No More Room in Hell 2?
Yes. A Responder who dies is lost permanently along with their progress, and a bite can turn you against your team.
