Ghost Janitors is a co-op horror game for one to four players by Interactive Wave Studio. You are cleaners sent into haunted houses at night: finish the tasks, keep the generator running so you can stay in the light, and get out before the ghosts get you.

About Ghost Janitors

Ghost Janitors puts you and up to three friends to work as cleaners in haunted places. It was made by Interactive Wave Studio and came out on Steam for Windows in November 2025. Each job is a house or building at night with a list of cleaning tasks, and you are paid for each one you finish before you leave.

Light is your safety. A generator powers the lamps, and the store's own advice is to stay in the light, but turn on too many and the generator shuts down, leaving the crew in the dark with whatever is in the house. Screenshots show a candlelit sitting room, a chapel with pews, a wooden house at the edge of a moonlit forest, and pale figures standing in the beam of a flashlight.

The makers say ghosts, tasks, sounds and jumpscares are randomized each run, so you do not learn exactly what will come out of the dark. Over time you unlock more than five maps with their own backstories, perks and cosmetics. Proximity voice chat means you hear your friends only when they are near, and lose them when they wander off to another room.

It plays close to Boo Men, where burglars also ration the lights against monsters, and to the ghost-hunting games such as Phasmophobia, though here the job is to clean and get out rather than identify the ghost. It suits a group of friends who want short, loud nights of scares between laughs.

How to play Ghost Janitors

Gather a crew of up to four online, or go in alone.
Pick a haunted location and read the list of cleaning tasks.
Turn on the generator and only the lights you need, so it does not shut down.
Clean the rooms as a team while staying in the light and watching for ghosts.
Leave the house once the work is done to collect your pay, then spend it on perks and cosmetics.

Tips

Agree with your crew which lights to switch on; too many at once kills the generator for everyone.
Stay within earshot of each other, since proximity chat cuts out when someone wanders off.
Know where the generator is before you start cleaning so you can find it in the dark.
