Once the evil takes her she hunts you by sight and sound, growing faster and smarter as you go, and grabs anyone she catches.

You and up to three friends work for Paranormal Activity Helpers Inc., sent into haunted places to find and burn possessed dolls while a girl hunts you through the dark, with more missions set on a farm, in the woods and at the company's offices.

About Pacify

Pacify is a multiplayer horror game by Shawn Hitchcock, released on Steam in February 2019 and later on PlayStation 4 in 2024, Xbox in 2025 and Nintendo Switch. You are a new employee of PAH Inc., Paranormal Activity Helpers Incorporated, a company that promises the work is never dangerous.

The first job is an old house built over a century ago that once served as a funeral parlour. Its owners were said to offer families a ritual for speaking to the dead one last time, until something went wrong and they vanished. Townspeople talk of laughter in the house and a little girl at the window. A broker wants to sell the place and hires PAH to prove it is safe.

Inside you read notes for clues, find keys and collect dolls, then burn them with matches and wood to weaken what lives there. The girl changes between calm and evil depending on what you do, and once the evil takes over she chases you through the narrow corridors, listening and watching for you. The more progress you make, the faster and smarter she gets. Other missions have you feeding a hungry farmer, weakening a witch in the woods and holding the company's headquarters through a power cut.

It plays best with friends: in co-op you save each other by interrupting the girl when she grabs someone, and in PvP the interns compete for one job and shove each other to the floor. Proximity voice chat means you hear friends scream from the next room. Alone it is much harder, since you must do the work of four.

How to play Pacify

Pick a mission and play alone or host a lobby for up to four players in co-op or PvP.
Explore the location and read the notes to learn how to pacify its entity.
Find keys to open locked rooms and collect the items the mission needs, such as dolls, wood and matches.
Use the items as the notes describe while staying out of the entity's sight and hearing.
In co-op, interrupt the entity when it catches a teammate to free them.

Tips

Split up to search faster, but keep someone close enough to rescue a caught teammate.
Move quietly; the girl can hear you as well as see you.
Read every note, since they explain the rules of each mission.
Play with at least one friend at first; solo is meant to be the hardest way.
