STAY AWAY FROM THE LIGHTHOUSE is a free browser horror game by BEDTIMESTORIES and Bubee, made in Unity for Scream Jam 2023. It is styled after a PlayStation game, right down to a cover drawn as a PS1 case.

You are the new keeper of a red and white lighthouse. On this night every nearby lighthouse has gone dark, and so has yours. Then your emergency radio crackles: a fisherman, panicking, begs you to guide him to safety, because, as he puts it, something emerged from the water.

You have a map and the height of the lighthouse, and you use them to talk him through the darkness. The fear is in what you cannot see: his voice breaking up over the radio, the empty coast below, and lines like 'it's still after me' while you try to pick the right way for him.

It takes a few minutes and plays in the browser. It suits anyone who likes sea horror, radio-voice tension and the low-poly look of old consoles.

How to play STAY AWAY FROM THE LIGHTHOUSE

1. Start the game in the browser and climb to the top of the lighthouse.
2. Answer the emergency radio when the fisherman calls.
3. Use your map and the view from the top to work out his route.
4. Reply to him through the radio choices and guide him to safety.

Tips

• Study the map before you answer; the right route matters.
• Play with headphones so you catch every word on the radio.
• It is short, so play it in one go in a dark room.
