What frightens You are John, a tower technician sent to repair the only radio tower serving a town under quarantine. Alone in a red, fog-choked forest you climb a tall steel mast and fix it by hand, and the higher you go the clearer it becomes that something in the trees is stalking you, until it comes for you and you have to fumble with your tools while it closes in.

Content: jumpscares, chase sequences, heights.

The Radio Tower is a free, short first-person horror game by ZagonGames. As a tower technician called out urgently, you climb a remote radio mast at the edge of an evacuation zone to restore its signal, while something stalks you from the forest below.

About The Radio Tower

The Radio Tower was made in Unity by ZagonGames, a developer from Mendoza, Argentina, for the GameDev.tv Halloween Jam 2025, and released on itch.io in October 2025 for Windows and Linux. It is pay what you want, and has since had bug fixes, a second ending and fan translations into Turkish, Polish, Italian, Russian and Portuguese. A larger version is listed on Steam for 2027.

Your name is John, and you climb the tallest towers in the world to maintain them. This time you are called out urgently: the only tower giving signal to the small town of Crimsonpine, under quarantine for reasons nobody tells you, has gone down. You arrive by truck, walk through the fenced compound, and start up the ladder of the mast, stopping at each section to carry out repairs.

The fear starts as height and isolation: the long climb in a red fog, the drop below, the empty buildings at the base. Then it becomes clear you are not alone in the woods. The game ends in a chase, and players remember most the panic of working with their tools while the creature closes in. The page discloses that some of its sounds were made with AI help.

It is a quick, tense play for anyone who likes short low-poly horror with one strong idea, and its two endings give a reason to go back.

How to play The Radio Tower

  1. Download the Windows or Linux build from the itch.io page (pay what you want, free is fine) and unzip it.
  2. Move with WASD and look with the mouse; walk from your truck into the tower compound.
  3. Climb the tower and use left click or E to carry out each repair as you go.
  4. When the threat appears, sprint with Shift and keep moving.
  5. Make the choice near the end that decides which of the two endings you get.
