What frightens As a delivery worker dropping off boxes at one Japanese apartment block at night, you meet its residents one door at a time, with the constant feeling that someone is behind you.

Content: suicide, gore, violence, shocking scenes.

Night Delivery is a short first-person J-horror game by Chilla's Art. You play a delivery worker bringing boxes to the residents of one apartment building at night, in a story inspired by Japanese short horror tales.

About [Chilla's Art] Night Delivery | 例外配達

Night Delivery (例外配達) is a horror game by Chilla's Art, the Japanese studio behind The Convenience Store and The Closing Shift, released on Steam in June 2021. The makers call it a psychological Japanese horror adventure and warn that it has shocking scenes.

You are a delivery worker carrying cardboard boxes around a single apartment building after dark. You climb its stairs and outside corridors, find the right doors and meet the people who live there, and as you meet them the job starts to go wrong. The story is inspired by Japanese short horror tales.

It is mainly a walking simulator, and the makers say it plays like their earlier Stigmatized Property. What they aimed for is a feeling more than a monster: the sense that someone is behind you the whole time. A VHS filter, which can be turned off, covers the picture with old CRT noise and jitter. There are two endings.

A run is short: the Steam page says one to two hours and the makers' itch.io page about 40 minutes. It suits players who want a quick, unsettling Japanese story in an ordinary place, and who are fine with dark themes, including suicide and gore.

How to play [Chilla's Art] Night Delivery | 例外配達

  1. Buy it on Steam or itch.io for Windows and start your delivery round.
  2. Walk the stairs and corridors of the apartment building to find each address.
  3. Deliver the boxes and talk to the residents you meet.
  4. Follow the night to one of the two endings.
