What frightens As an office worker riding the train home, you find the ordinary commute turning into psychological J-horror, with disturbing scenes, suicide and blood that the store warns about.

Content: suicide, disturbing scenes, blood, flashing lights (photosensitive seizure warning).

The Ghost Train is a short psychological horror game by Chilla's Art in which you ride the train home as a Japanese office worker. It plays mainly as a walking simulator through trains and stations under a VHS filter, takes 40 to 60 minutes and has several endings.

About [Chilla's Art] The Ghost Train | 幽霊列車

The Ghost Train (幽霊列車, Yurei Ressha) is a game by Chilla's Art, the Japanese two-brother studio behind Aka Manto, Inunaki Tunnel and Missing Children, released on Steam for Windows in July 2020. Its Japanese description sets it up plainly: you are a salaryman taking the train home, in a psychological horror game with a Japanese horror theme.

It plays mainly as a walking simulator. You move through train carriages and stations, and the horror is in what happens to an everyday journey; the makers promise that the game will drive you insane. The environments are inspired by Japanese horror films, and the photo-realistic scenes are shown through a VHS filter that copies CRT trails, tape noise, interlacing and signal jitter.

The store warns that it contains disturbing scenes and suicide, and blood, and that it may trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. The game saves automatically on every load.

A run takes 40 to 60 minutes, and there are several endings to find. It suits players who like the strange-train and wrong-station stories of Japanese urban horror and want a short, quiet game rather than a chase.
