Games Like Phasmophobia: Ghost Hunts and Co-op Horror
Phasmophobia's hook is a team of friends in a dark building, working out what is haunting it before it turns on them. These games share that mix of investigation, co-op panic and something in the dark that hunts the group.

The two games closest to Phasmophobia are Demonologist and Ghost Watchers. In Demonologist up to four players walk into cursed places with investigation tools, gather evidence to tell which of two dozen kinds of spirit is there and drive it out with an exorcism, while the spirit listens to what you say and can hunt you. Ghost Watchers keeps the evidence-gathering too, with dozens of tools, but ends the job by weakening the ghost and catching it. Ghost Exile, still in Early Access, is the most direct copy of the formula for one to four players: work out the ghost's type from evidence, then perform the exorcism ritual, while its anger builds. The Other Side, also in Early Access, takes up to six hunters: gather evidence to identify the entity, then find and destroy the artifacts that bind it to the place. Project Unknown has your team study each ghost's behaviour in a journal and exorcise it by finding the belonging that holds its curse, with light scarce. FOREWARNED moves the same idea to ancient Egypt: up to four archaeologists gather evidence to name the cursed mummy haunting a tomb, grab its relic and run before it takes form and hunts them.
Pacify and DEVOUR are close in spirit, with more running. In Pacify up to four players go into haunted places for Paranormal Activity Helpers Inc., find and burn possessed dolls and run from the girl who hunts them. DEVOUR is faster and louder: four cultists race to find ritual items and banish a demon from their possessed leader while she and her fiends chase them, armed only with UV flashlights.
If what you love is the team chatter and the screaming over voice chat, Lethal Company, Content Warning and R.E.P.O. keep that and add a job. In Lethal Company the crew hauls scrap out of dark facilities to meet a quota; in Content Warning you film monsters in an underground ruin to go viral. R.E.P.O. does the same for up to six players, as small robots carrying fragile loot through dark buildings while monsters roam. All three are as funny as they are frightening.
If you liked the identification side, working out which entity you face from evidence, try The Mortuary Assistant on your own: you embalm bodies at night and must work out which demon came with them before it takes you. Visage is the solo haunted house in full: a large home where families died and their ghosts close in, with only light to keep your sanity. Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal P.I. is the solo ghost hunt done slowly: you take real-world investigation tools into haunted places at night, gather evidence of several ghosts per location and learn who each one was, with an exorcism when a demon is involved. Paranormal Night Shift makes you and your partner ghost hunters called to a haunted 1980s London home, watching it on cameras and reporting every change through the night.
If your group would rather hunt a monster than a ghost, BIGFOOT sends you into a national park at night to prove the creature exists while it stalks your camp. And if your group wants one player to be the thing in the dark, Dead by Daylight puts a friend in the role of the killer against four survivors.
For a short, free taste of the ghost-hunting show idea on your own, Vacant follows two friends filming an episode in an abandoned building at dusk, where sounds move in the dark and the place's cult history starts to answer back.
