A short, free RPG horror thriller by racheldrawsthis and Rix of STUDIO INVESTIGRAVE. Bok-su Go attends the wedding of Da-jeong Choi, a friend from university she has not seen in years, and works through a to-do list on the big day while the past between them catches up, in about 30 to 45 minutes.

About Married in Red

Married in Red is a short 2D RPG thriller with visual novel and point-and-click elements by racheldrawsthis and Rix, with music and sound by Bell Kalengar, the team behind Dead Plate and Elevator Hitch. It was first made for a Korean game jam in March 2024 on the theme of atonement and came out on itch.io in June 2024 for Windows and macOS, free or for a tip.

It is set in South Korea. Bok-su Go, in black, comes to the wedding of Da-jeong Choi, an old friend from university in a white dress and veil. They have not been close for a long time, and the warm greetings do not quite cover what lies between them.

Play is classic RPG Maker horror with objective puzzles: a hand-written to-do list tells you to say hello, look in the kitchen or meet the groom, and you walk the ceremony garden and the venue's rooms on eight maps, talking to guests and finding what the list asks for. More than 30 illustrated scenes and 3,500 lines of dialogue carry the story, with brief game overs along the way.

The tension is slow and personal at first and turns violent; the makers warn of death, graphic blood, gore, violence and disturbing imagery and audio. They also warn that the comments on its page hold heavy spoilers.

It has one ending and takes under an hour, so it suits players who like short, story-led RPG Maker horror with a striking art style. It can be played in English, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Ukrainian, Spanish and Russian.
