OVERD0SE is the first game by the itch.io creator Mooki, made in Ren'Py with hand-made backgrounds, sprites and CGs. It is in development and updated in chapters, called days; the maker plans fifteen days, full voice acting and more dream sequences. It is free to play in the browser or download for Windows and macOS.

You survive a suspicious car accident and wake up in a hospital. Your doctor is attentive, gentle and seems to know far too much about you. As strange injuries, missing memories and unsettling clues pile up, you begin to suspect that the man treating you has been experimenting on you since long before you can remember.

You read and choose as in a visual novel, with a customisable main character, an inventory, affinity with the characters and minigames like a café rush. Anxiety and awareness meters sit in the corner of the screen. Choices matter: some end in a 'You Died' screen, and the maker admits to losing count of the endings.

It is horror with a romance surface. The maker's content warnings run from jumpscares, blood, gore and medical horror to graphic self-harm, drugging, stalking, kidnapping and confinement, so read them before you start. It suits readers of yandere horror visual novels like Where Winter Crows Go or He Follows.

How to play OVERD0SE

1. Open the game's itch.io page and press Run Visual Novel, or download it for Windows or macOS.
2. Create your main character and choose your pronouns.
