rotten angel was made for the Spooktober Visual Novel Jam 2024, where it was an honourable mention, by a small team: sylvan wrote and programmed it, Yonnechi drew the sprites and CGs and Trrisuf designed the interface. It is made in Ren'Py, free in the browser or as a download for Windows, macOS and Linux, and has been translated into French and Brazilian Portuguese.

You, your boyfriend and his twin brother, Evan and Enjei, have a lovely Halloween dinner together. A day later, a corpse is found. Some say death is a beginning, and here it opens a box of suspicions and revelations as long-kept secrets come out between the brothers.

You read the story over soft, grey-blue anime-style art, choose your pronouns and make choices that lead to one of two endings. The horror is quiet and personal: who knew what, what one brother would do for the other, and a love the story calls rotten. The makers ask you to read their trigger warnings first: blood and gore, murder and attempted murder, imprisonment, emotional manipulation, mentions of child abuse and cheating, and unreciprocated incest, with brief flashing and shaking effects.
