Vacation Terminal is a short psychological horror visual novel by Gelppy, free to play in the browser. About Vacation Terminal
Vacation Terminal is the first game by Gelppy, who directed it, co-wrote it with Dion06 and drew its characters and scenes, with music by Brian Twohig. It began as an entry for the 2025 yandere game jam, missed the deadline and was finished as a project of its own, released on itch.io in 2025 at a price you choose, and on Steam in January 2026. It plays in the browser and downloads for Windows, macOS and Linux, and has been translated into Russian, Traditional Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese and two kinds of Spanish. The maker states that no generative AI was used.
Gavriil and Yeva are strangers who happen to share a train cabin and have little to say to each other. Then the train derails in the middle of nowhere. Gavriil wakes alone in a cold, pitch-black cave, his leg gone, and Yeva tells him she saved his life. There is no sign of rescue and no way to call for help. This was supposed to be a short vacation.
The maker calls it a short psychological thriller, horror and survival visual novel. Most of it is read: text over drawn character art and scenes of the cave, the snow and the wreck, with choices along the way. Between scenes, a small minigame has you move Yeva across a snowy map to collect crates and avoid bears before getting back to the cave. The game opens with a warning for graphic deaths, violence, blood, gore, disturbing imagery and audio, eye strain and descriptions of suicide.
It runs to 8,000 or 9,000 words, 40 minutes to an hour, with three endings. It suits readers of yandere and captivity stories who want a cold, claustrophobic one, and anyone who enjoyed take care of it. or Myosotis.
