About Mind the Gap
Mind the Gap is a visual novel by SweePix, made in Ren'Py and released in chapters on itch.io. The second chapter came out in December 2025 and the third in May 2026, with voice acting added along the way and a Brazilian Portuguese translation alongside the English and Spanish. The maker draws every CG and sprite and most of the backgrounds by hand.
You wake up in a train compartment you do not remember boarding. The air is too heavy and the silence too deliberate, and outside the door there are voices and footsteps: other passengers who do not know how they got there either. Before long a figure with an old television for a head tells you only that this is an experiment, and the group has to decide who to trust and how to behave in a place that seems to expect them to follow its rules.
It plays as a classic visual novel. You read voiced dialogue over dark, hand-drawn scenes of carriages and corridors, and at key moments you choose what to do or who to side with. The maker describes the pacing as very slow-burn: the dread builds from unsettling details, like a cracked doll in a dim corridor, and from the way people change when they are trapped together.
The maker warns that it contains mature and disturbing content: graphic violence and character death, psychological manipulation and gaslighting, references to torture, child endangerment, suicidal ideation, body horror and assault. It suits readers who like death-game and trapped-strangers stories, and do not mind a story that is still being finished.
