About Saiko no sutoka

Saiko no sutoka is a horror survival game by Habupain, first released in 2020 and on Steam since March 2021. It is built around one character: Saiko-chan, a cheerful anime schoolgirl who is also, in the maker's words, a psycho serial killer who loves to play with you before she has a chance to kill you.

She has abducted you, her senpai, and locked you inside her school at night. To get out you have to find the numbers that open a safe, which holds the key to the exit door. The corridors are dark, lockers line the walls, and Saiko is never far away.

What makes it work is her behaviour. In her yandere state she is not directly hostile, but she will not let you leave and keeps getting in your way, slowing you down and talking to you. In her yangire state she turns violent, hides and tries to ambush you, then calms down again once she has done enough damage. You learn to read which Saiko you are facing.

There is a story-style yandere mode that works as a tutorial, normal and hard modes, and a very difficult yangire mode for players who want a challenge. The store notes the game is still being expanded. It suits players who like short escape horror in the style of Granny with an anime stalker in place of an old woman.

Learn the school's layout in the easier mode before trying normal or hard.
When Saiko vanishes from sight in her hostile state, expect an ambush and keep moving.
