What frightens A sentient comet called Hheily crashes into your apartment and asks you to feed her fire. Around her, plants grow wild, colours turn too bright and animals mutate, strangers knock wanting her flame, and something from beyond space and time waits in the dark for her to go out; the body horror is played for laughs, and reviewers find it the lightest on scares of the series.

Content: adult themes, comic body horror (the maker's warning), swearing.

Sucker for Love: Crush Landing is the third Lovecraftian horror-comedy visual novel from Akabaka, after First Date and Date to Die For. A sentient comet named Hheily crash-lands in your living room, and you must keep her flame alive while visitors, mutations and a darkness from beyond close in. Its endings depend on what you do.

About Sucker for Love: Crush Landing

Crush Landing is the third Sucker for Love game by Akabaka, published this time by Black Lantern Collective. The first two games had you summon eldritch goddesses through rituals from a spellbook. Here the cosmos comes to you: a comet named Hheily crashes through the wall of your city apartment. She can change her shape into anything, a hot babe included, and she has not landed on Earth by accident.

The story borrows from H. P. Lovecraft's The Colour Out of Space and Clark Ashton Smith's The City of the Singing Flame. Hheily's presence changes everything near her: plants run wild, colours grow more intense and animals mutate. Her flame draws visitors who want it for themselves, and something malevolent from beyond space and time has followed her trail. Low on energy, she asks you to feed her fire and save the planet.

You play in hand-drawn 360-degree scenes of the apartment from the first game. You gather items to feed Hheily against the clock, answer the door to a string of strange callers, and talk your way through thousands of lines of voiced dialogue, choosing what to accept and whom to trust. What you do sets which of its endings you reach, and reviewers say runs are short and made to be replayed.

It came out on Steam for Windows on 31 August 2026. Steam reviewers who know the series call it the gentlest of the three, with few scares and more comedy and feeling; the maker jokes on the store page that there is no horror in this one. It suits players of the earlier games and those who like their cosmic horror funny rather than frightening. Reviewers who want more dread point to First Date.

Tips

  • Inspect items before you use them: what you feed Hheily, and when, changes what happens.
  • Runs are short, so try a different order of actions on each one to open new events.
  • You can play it without the first two games, but they explain the apartment and the series' sense of humour.
