Content: heavy gore, blood, violence, murder.

The Happyhills Homicide 2: Out For Blood is a retro pixel-art slasher puzzle game by Copperbolt. You play John Wade, the masked killer known as the Pale Grin, risen from the grave six years after the first game, as well as the detective hunting him and a father seeking revenge. Its 20 levels are puzzles about how to get to and dispatch each victim, with heavy cartoon gore.

About The Happyhills Homicide 2: Out For Blood

The Happyhills Homicide 2: Out For Blood is the sequel to The Happyhills Homicide, made by Copperbolt and released on Steam for Windows on 3 April 2025. It costs a few dollars and is styled after 1980s horror films, with plenty of references to them.

Six years have passed, and the infamous Pale Grin, mass murderer John Wade, rises from the grave to terrorise the broken town of Happyhills, with more on his mind than killing. Detective Bryan Pawalski is back and determined to take him down for good, and a new hunter joins in: Mr Carpenter, out for revenge for the death of his daughter Madison.

You play all three, each with a different style. As John Wade, each level is a puzzle: work out how to reach every victim, find creative murder weapons, and make each kill, with no two deaths the same. As Pawalski you search for clues that bring you closer to Wade. As Mr Carpenter you breach doors with a sawn-off shotgun and decide whether to spare or kill. There are 20 levels across new parts of Happyhills such as a slaughterhouse and the police department.

The store is clear that gore and blood are what it is all about, drawn in a cartoon style that still implies the real thing. It suits players who liked the first game and want a slasher where you are the monster.
