What frightens A world taken from Lovecraft's myths, drawn like a dark comic book: swollen, possessed townsfolk shamble out of foggy streets, cultists fill candlelit churches, and many-eyed, tentacled horrors grow out of glowing fungus, every enemy twisting into worse forms as your own grip on sanity slips.

Content: gore, violence.

Forgive Me Father 2 is a fast first-person shooter set in a world inspired by H.P. Lovecraft, drawn like a dark comic book. Continuing the Priest's story from the first game, you blast through hordes of possessed cultists and eldritch horrors, and use your growing madness to unlock strange powers.

About Forgive Me Father 2

Forgive Me Father 2 is a first-person shooter from the studio Byte Barrel, published by Fulqrum Publishing. It came out on Steam in October 2024 and later on PlayStation 5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It is the sequel to Forgive Me Father and continues the story of the Priest from the first game.

You travel into a hostile world drawn from H.P. Lovecraft's myths, searching for a way back to sanity. The levels move from foggy night streets and gothic churches to strange, glowing growths and snowy outposts, and every frame is drawn to look like a page of a dark comic book, with heavy ink lines and bright, sickly colour.

It plays as a fast, old-school shooter. You fight crowds of possessed townsfolk, deranged cultists and ancient things with shotguns, rifles and explosive launchers, each with stronger versions to unlock. Enemies evolve into more twisted forms as you go. Madness builds as you fight and feeds abilities you can unleash on what is attacking you, and the soundtrack is driven by electric guitars and drums.

This is horror you fight head-on rather than run from: the dread is in the grotesque designs, the gore and the cult imagery, not in hiding. It suits players who liked DUSK, CULTIC or the first Forgive Me Father and want a darker, Lovecraftian twist on the genre.

How to play Forgive Me Father 2

  1. Move through each level and shoot what comes at you.
  2. Pick up ammunition and health, and switch weapons to suit the enemies in front of you.
  3. Unlock new weapons and their stronger variants as you progress.
  4. Let madness build in fights, then spend it on the special abilities it powers.
  5. Find the way forward through each level to its end and the next part of the Priest's journey.

Tips

  • Keep moving; standing still in a crowd of cultists is how you die.
  • Save the explosive launchers for groups and the rifles for enemies at range.
  • Use your madness abilities when you are swarmed rather than holding on to them.

Questions

Do I need to play the first Forgive Me Father?

Is Forgive Me Father 2 on consoles?

Yes. Besides Steam, it is sold on the PlayStation Store, the Xbox store and the Nintendo eShop for Switch.

Is Forgive Me Father 2 scary?

It is an action shooter more than a frightening one: the horror is in its Lovecraftian monsters, cult imagery and gore, and you are always well armed.
