About CULTIC

CULTIC is the work of Jasozz Games, a solo developer, published by 3D Realms in 2022. Chapter One has ten maps, a wave-based Survival Mode and an Interlude map, and the Chapter Two expansion finishes the story.

You are left for dead in a grave and crawl back out to take revenge on the cult that put you there. Its followers are everywhere, minds twisted by an unseen entity, and they shoot back as hard as you shoot at them. The levels take you through moonlit forests, mining camps, a gothic town and stranger places, lit by your lighter and your gunfire.

Fights are fast and deadly in both directions. You run, slide and dodge, use cover, lay traps, throw dynamite and turn the cultists against each other, with an arsenal of mid-century rifles, shotguns and revolvers. Its look mixes a modern 3D world with deliberately pixelated, low-colour textures, so it feels like a lost game from the 1990s.

It is more action than dread, but dark and gory, with an occult story behind it. It suits players who liked DUSK, Blood or Quake and want more horror in their shooters.

How to play CULTIC

1. Fight through each map, finding keys and secrets to open the way.
2. Keep moving and use cover; cultists hit as hard as you do.
3. Use dynamite, traps and explosive barrels to clear groups.
4. Light your way with the lighter in dark mines and buildings.
5. Try the wave-based Survival Mode after the story.

Tips

• Lead enemies into each other's fire to save ammunition.
• Slide into cover rather than standing in the open.
• Check dark corners for secret areas and supplies.
