About Sker Ritual

Sker Ritual is a first-person horde shooter by Wales Interactive, published by Skybound Games and released in April 2024 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It is a co-op follow-up to the studio's stealth horror game Maid of Sker, and its story picks up from that game's evil ending.

Sker Island is overrun by the Quiet Ones, failed experiments turned ravenous and controlled by Elisabeth's order. Solo or in a party of up to four online, you fight round after round across six maps to bring Elisabeth's reign of terror to an end. Elites and bosses have their own powers and force you to change how you play and what you carry.

The tools are old-school round-based shooter staples with its own twists. Celtic gods grant Miracles as you kill: each drop offers three random upgrades to your shots, melee, grenades or healing, and some give a powerful ability you charge up and release. You buy guns and ammo from The Laughing Policeman's booths, gamble for better arms with Lucky, and super-charge weapons into steampunk creations. Optional objectives and hidden Easter eggs sit in each map.

This is horror you shoot at rather than hide from: the frights are the monsters' designs and the pressure of the swarm. It suits players who like wave-survival co-op such as Killing Floor 2, and fans of Maid of Sker who want to see the island from the other side.

How to play Sker Ritual

1. Buy it on Steam for Windows, or on the PlayStation Store or Xbox store.
2. Pick a map and start solo or with up to three other players online.
3. Shoot down each wave of the Quiet Ones and survive to the next round.
4. Choose Miracle upgrades from the Celtic gods and buy arms at the booths.
5. Complete optional objectives and fight the bosses to end Elisabeth's reign.

Tips

• Combine Miracles from the same gods; the store says devotion to the right ones builds strong combos.
• Find Lucky on each map to gamble for a higher-tier weapon.
• Save your charged ability for when the Quiet Ones get too close.
