Slender Threads is a point-and-click adventure by Blyts, released on PC in February 2025 and later on Switch, iPhone and Android.

Every night Harvey Green has the same dream: his own head, mounted on a wall. Wandering the unfamiliar town of Villa Ventana, he runs into a series of paranormal events and gruesome deaths, and begins to suspect that his nightmare is a warning about his own fate. The game follows his attempt to change what his visions show before they become real.

It plays as a traditional adventure game. You walk Harvey around the town's streets, shops and outskirts, talk to a large cast of strange characters with full voice acting in English, and solve inventory and dialogue puzzles. Scenes are hand-drawn and set in 3D spaces, which gives them the look of small dioramas: a barber shop at night, a crypt full of bones, a hallway of red doors with hands pushing through.

The tone mixes dread and grim imagery with absurd humour. The store lists blood and gore, violence, strong language and drug references. It suits players who like story-driven horror adventures in the vein of Sally Face, with puzzles more than chases.

How to play Slender Threads

1. Click around each scene to walk Harvey through Villa Ventana and examine what you see.
2. Talk to the townsfolk; dialogue choices give you clues and open new places.
3. Pick up items, and use them on people and places to solve puzzles.
4. Follow the trail of paranormal events and use what you learn to change what Harvey's visions show.

Tips

• Talk to every character more than once; new events give them new things to say.
• When you are stuck, look again at the places you have already been; something there may have changed.
• Try each new item on the people you meet as well as on places; a puzzle can be solved through a conversation.
• Play with headphones; the game has full English voice acting and its own score.
