spookY2K is a comedic mystery visual novel and dating sim set at a Halloween party in 1999. You wake on a bathroom floor with no memories, sent back in time, and as you flirt with or befriend six guests you try to stop the party from taking a deadly turn.

About spookY2K

spookY2K is made by KigyoDev, with writing by Zetaken, music by Vitor Huber and web and UI work by Rosia. It began as a demo for the Spooktober Visual Novel Jam 2025, where it placed third overall in the ratings and, as its makers report, took second place. The full game came out on 1 May 2026 on Steam and itch.io for Windows, Mac and Linux. The jam demo is still free to download on itch.io. Its itch.io page states that no generative AI was used.

You wake up on a cold bathroom floor with a headache, no memories and a terrible sense that something has happened, is happening and will happen. You have somehow travelled back to a Halloween party in 1999, all low-rise jeans, cat-ear hats and vampire collars, and six singles are ready to mingle. You build your own character, choose dialogue from smooth to strange, and romance or befriend whoever you like.

Its makers call it a comedic mystery where time travel meets horror movie tropes. Underneath the flirting, each of seven routes leans on a different horror or time-loop idea, and the night can go wrong: a guest cornered and hurt in the kitchen, a scream for help, a choice to kill. The store warns of blood, violence and death, and the most upsetting scenes can be skipped in the settings.
