Ignited Entry is a free game by JordiBoi, released on Steam in November 2024 and also on itch.io, where you can pay what you like. It is made in Unreal Engine for Windows, with English voice acting.

You abandoned your old life as a firefighter, running from tormenting memories of a family you could not save from a house fire. Something is not right. A sound, warped and inhuman, seems to call you back to the house. The deeper you go into the shadows, the more you question what is real, and whether someone is waiting for you beyond the afterlife.

The maker calls it a full-length narrative psychological horror game with dreamish visuals. Its scenes are washed in deep reds, purples and blues with an old-screen glow: a city balcony at night, a train carriage under harsh lights, a dark waiting room, a figure with a pale face in the dark. You carry an inventory of objects such as memory glasses that let you look into the memories of their previous owner.

It suits players who like story-led horror about guilt and grief, in the line of Layers of Fear or Find Yourself, and want something free to play in an evening or two.

How to play Ignited Entry

1. Explore each scene in first person and follow the sound that calls you.
2. Pick up objects and check them in your inventory.
3. Use memory objects, such as the memory glasses, to see into the past.
4. Listen to the voiced story as it moves between memory and the present.
5. Your progress is saved, so you can stop and come back later.

• Play with headphones; much of the dread is in the voices and sounds.
• Check your inventory descriptions; they explain what each memory object does.
• Take your time in each place; the story is in the details.
