About Overnight Interview

Overnight Interview is a free short game by piripiripiri, playable in the browser and as a Windows download, with a longer release planned on Steam. Its premise: hell is empty, all the devils are here, and they are opening a convenience store. There is an open position, and the interview starts at midnight.

You walk into a shop of bright packaging and long aisles, and the lights soon go down. Your interviewer is Skully, a grinning skull with green eyes and a name tag reading Lead Supervisor, who floats beside you and tests your retail experience: answer a few questions, clean up the store, stock the shelves, pick customer orders. Along the way it apologises in advance for the interrupted power.

It is as much a joke as a scare, a surreal blend of strange and some horror in the maker's words, but the dark aisles, the flashlight beam and the instruction to watch your back during each task keep you tense between laughs.

The game is in active development, so you may find bugs. If the browser version loads slowly or the mouse feels wrong, the maker suggests the Windows download. It suits anyone who wants a quick, funny night-shift scare.

How to play Overnight Interview

1. Click the game to focus it, then walk into the store with WASD and look around with the mouse.
2. Answer the interview questions when Skully asks them.
3. Follow the task shown at the top of the screen, such as stocking or clearing shelves.
4. Left click to pick items up and place them, and keep going until the interview ends.
