Rehaunted is a first-person psychological detective horror game from Cauchemar. As detective Connor Raines you investigate the death of a young woman inside her home, using a UV flashlight, camera and magnifier to find hidden clues, while something in the house makes clear you are not alone.

About Rehaunted

Rehaunted came out on Steam in September 2026, made and published by Cauchemar. It is a short first-person horror game built around a single crime scene: detective Connor Raines arrives at what looks like a simple case, a young woman found dead in her home, and finds the evidence does not add up.

You search the house room by room for blood traces, fingerprints, hidden recordings and personal belongings. Your tools are a UV flashlight, a camera, a magnifier and a walkie-talkie, plus an evidence board where you connect what you find and reconstruct what happened that night. Over the radio you talk to another detective, choosing dialogue options that push the investigation along. The store says the game never tells you the answers directly.

The horror builds slowly at first, through oppressive sound, a dark and dirty house and supernatural moments. Then the house shows what lives in it: the magnifying glass reveals a gaunt, grinning woman standing in the hallways, and she does not stay still. The store screenshots also show a very bloody bathroom scene.

It is closer to a detective game than a hide-and-seek horror game, with investigation as the main activity and the haunting as the pressure on top. It suits players who liked Infliction or MADiSON and want a mystery to solve in a house that is not empty. The store puts its length at two to three hours.

How to play Rehaunted

Walk the house in first person and look over each room of the crime scene.
Switch between the UV flashlight, camera and magnifier to reveal clues the naked eye misses.
Pin what you find to the evidence board and connect it to rebuild the events of that night.
Answer your partner on the walkie-talkie and choose dialogue options to follow new leads.
Stay alert to the woman in the house and get away when she comes for you.

Tips

Check rooms again with the UV light and the magnifier; much of the evidence only shows through them.
Write down any phone numbers or names you hear on the radio so you can follow them up.
If the game seems stuck, restart from the last save; launch bugs have been patched but players still report some.
Play with headphones: the sound design carries much of the tension.
