The Cursed Forest is a first-person horror adventure, a remake of a game its creator KPy3O first released on IndieDB that became widely popular. KPy3O rebuilt it with the team Noostyche in CRYENGINE 5, with better graphics and a new story, and it is sold on Steam and itch.io for Windows.

Your character gets word that his mother is in hospital and takes a shortcut down an old, forgotten road through an ominous autumn forest. Something appears in front of the car, he crashes, and he is lost among the trees. The forest hides many secrets and creatures that want to harm whoever crosses their path, and a dangerous mystical creature lives there. To set things right you have to uncover the mysteries of the past and perform a ritual to release an innocent soul imprisoned in a monstrous form.

The game has five sections and lets you choose your own path through the forest, looking for the items and notes that move the story on. The makers describe the landscapes as dark and fairy-tale-like, and say it is not entirely serious: rather than shocking you with cruelty, it mixes in small funny moments. Players describe it as an atmospheric walking game with creepy sound and some jump scares.

A full playthrough takes around four hours. It suits players who want a slow, good-looking walk through dark woods with a mystery to piece together, more than a game of chases and combat.
