Apsulov: End of Gods is a first-person horror adventure by Angry Demon Studio that sets Norse mythology in a science-fiction future. You wake in a facility built to research the worlds of Yggdrasil and must find your way through it and the realms beyond while what humans dug up turns on them.
About Apsulov: End of Gods
Apsulov: End of Gods is a first-person horror adventure from Angry Demon Studio, released on Steam in August 2019 and later on PlayStation, Xbox and Switch. Its makers call it future viking horror: the gods and realms of Norse myth meet steel, concrete and machines.
You wake in a sanctuary built deep under the earth to study and exploit the nine worlds of Yggdrasil, and to hold an artifact buried there long ago. Humans went looking for the mercy of the gods and found something that was never meant to reach the surface. Their own technology has been turned against them, and the facility is in chaos and decay.
You explore the facility and other realms in first person, working out its secrets and using the tools the game gives you to deal with the places and the creatures you meet. The store warns of gore, flashing lights and strong language, and the game has difficulty settings, rebindable keys and an option to reduce head bobbing.
It suits players who like a single-player sci-fi horror story in the mould of SOMA or Scorn but want a setting they have not seen before: runes, world trees and Norse gods in place of space stations.
