Angel Engine is a first-person horror surgery simulator based on the Angel Engine web series. As the newest employee of a research center in a ruined future, you operate on comatose test subjects through timed minigames while fending off demons and keeping failing machines running.
About Angel Engine
Angel Engine is a horror surgery sim from HMS Studios and Black Lantern Collective, published by Aurakenn Games in March 2026. It tells a missing chapter of the Angel Engine web series: nuclear fire burned the skies long ago, the world is ash, and the Second Tower of Babel still stands, where a crew of scientists works to save humanity from damnation.
You are the newest employee of the Babel 2 Scientific Research Center. Your job, as the store puts it, is to correct deformities on test subjects and ask only acceptable questions. From a sealed operating room you work a mechanical arm over each patient, playing a minigame for every treatment, while the clock runs and the patient must not wake.
The pressure is the horror. As you operate, equipment breaks down and must be serviced, the Angel Engine must be kept going, and demons have to be fended off, and every operation adds a new layer to manage. The bodies on the table are unclothed, wounded and gory, the room is dark and red-lit, and the store warns of frightening scenes and some jumpscares. Between shifts a mailbox and manuals on the BabelOS terminal tell the stories of the center's staff.
Players compare it to Five Nights at Freddy's for its night-by-night juggling of systems, and many say the later operations get hard. It suits players who like one-room horror that is about keeping up under pressure more than exploring.
How to play Angel Engine
- Buy Angel Engine on Steam and start your first shift from the BabelOS terminal.
- Read the manuals and the mailbox to learn the tools and the center's rules.
- Start an operation and treat each wound by playing its minigame with the mechanical arm.
- Watch your equipment and the Angel Engine and service whatever starts to fail.
- Fend off demons when they come, and finish before the patient wakes.

Tips
- Do not skip the tutorial: the first operation is hard without it, players say.
- Keep an eye on every system at once; a failing machine can end the shift as surely as a botched cut.
- Later operations add new mechanics, so expect to retry them.
- The scalpel minigame rewards patience more than speed.
