What frightens You and your crew, in spacesuits, are sent at night into a large, changing building with only a manager on the radio for help. The rooms are pitch dark, lit by your torch, and creepy monsters wait in alleys and on the floors above, from a long-haired figure on a ledge to a crawling thing with a glowing eye; a death ends with YOU DIED.
Emissary Zero is a first-person co-op horror game for one to four players by solo developer Rone Vine. You are sent to explore a mysterious building at night, complete tasks and find the Moon, while creepy monsters roam its dark floors. It can also be played in split screen and in VR.
About Emissary Zero
Emissary Zero is a horror game made by one developer, Rone Vine, released on Steam for Windows in March 2025. It can be played alone, online with up to four people, or by two on one screen, and the store lists VR support with tracked controllers.
The premise is short and strange. You are sent to explore a mysterious building at night. Only your manager will support you; the rest you have to do yourself. Your goal is to find the Moon and try to return alive. The screenshots show the crew in bulky spacesuits of different colours, standing in front of lift doors or under a huge moon that fills a hall.
The building is large and changes, and there is a lot to explore. Tasks appear on screen, such as turning on the electricity on the first floor or exploring the second floor of the annex, and the store describes managing resources: finding, moving, repairing, connecting and observing. Players talk through in-game voice chat.
The fear comes from the dark and what lives in it. Most of the building is lit only by your torch, and creepy monsters wait in it: a tall long-haired shape on a ledge, a crouching thing with a glowing eye between crates. Going off alone to finish a task means facing them without your friends. It suits groups who like co-op horror built around exploring and tasks, and players with a VR headset who want to play it that way.
How to play Emissary Zero
- Start a game alone, host or join an online group of up to four, or play two on one screen.
- Listen to your manager and check the task list in the corner of the screen.
- Explore the building with your torch and complete each task: find, move, repair and connect what it asks.
- Talk to your crew over voice chat and keep track of where the monsters are.
- Find the Moon and try to get back alive.

Tips
- Stay close to friends in the darkest areas; the screenshots show monsters waiting where one player wanders alone.
- Read the task list before you set off so you know which floor to head for.
- The building changes, so do not rely only on what you remember from a past game.
- Turn the electricity on when a task asks; light makes the rooms easier to read.
