Greed Stays Home is a horror walking sim by Yellow Basement Games, the studio behind Befriended Curse, released on Steam in January 2025. The store gives an average completion time of 50 minutes.

You play a historian and treasure hunter who has dreamed since childhood of lost paintings, war gold and stolen jewels, and has so far found only a few old coins. Your latest lead is an aristocratic family from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries that lost much of its fortune to a theft. Friends and relatives were suspected, an innocent person was condemned, and in the workers' village below the estate people began to disappear.

The village is now nearly empty. For days you have gone through it house by house with a backpack and a flashlight, under the suspicious looks of the few locals left. The game opens on just another day and another house.

You explore in first person and uncover the story from what you find. The store says it puts atmosphere, building tension and fear first, with well-timed jump scares, and warns of ghosts, corpses, violence and gore. The houses are dark and run down, with rugs on the walls, stoves and old plates, all in a washed-out, nearly black and white look.

It suits players who want a short, story-led haunted house to finish in under an hour. The store carries a warning for players with photosensitive epilepsy.
