What frightens Through a night shift you watch live surveillance cameras in six places and report every anomaly, from small shifts in a room to grotesque otherworldly intruders. Reporting one fixes it; let too many build up and you do not survive the night, so you stare at still rooms until paranoia sets in.

Content: scary monsters, corpses, violence, blood, mild nudity.

I'm on Observation Duty 7 is the seventh of Notovia's spot-the-difference horror games, made with Dreamloop Games. You watch live security cameras across six levels through the night and report every anomaly, from a small change in a room to an otherworldly intruder, before too many pile up. It is sold for PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation and Xbox.

About I'm on Observation Duty 7

I'm on Observation Duty 7 is a horror game by Notovia and Dreamloop Games, released on Steam in October 2024 for Windows, Mac and Linux; it is also sold for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. The store calls the series the original franchise behind the spot-the-difference horror trend.

As before, you work for a mysterious organisation and watch live surveillance footage through a night shift. Each level has its own cameras and its own anomalies, supernatural events that range from subtle changes in a room to grotesque intruders. When you see one, you open the report, choose its type, such as a dead body, a door anomaly, an extra object, an image anomaly, an intruder or a missing object, and send it. A correct report fixes the anomaly.

The six levels go further afield than the early games. The store screenshots show an indoor pool with a waterslide, a painting gallery, a basement, a snowy yard, a factory canning line, a lobby, a cafeteria and a lonely road past a gas station sign at night. The game supports controllers on PC.

The fear grows out of watching. Long stretches pass with nothing obvious on the feeds, and the store asks whether you will succumb to paranoia before the night ends. The makers warn of scary monsters, some corpses, violence, blood and mild nudity. It suits players of the earlier entries, The Exit 8 and other anomaly games who want a longer set of nights.

How to play I'm on Observation Duty 7

  1. Choose a level and start the night shift.
  2. Look through every camera once to learn how each place looks at the start.
  3. Switch between the cameras regularly and look for anything that has changed.
  4. When you see an anomaly, open Report, choose the type and send it.
  5. Keep the anomalies under control until the night is over.

Tips

  • The first look at each camera is your reference; take your time with it.
  • Check every camera in turn rather than watching your favourite room.
  • Choose the anomaly type with care; a missing object and a moved one are different reports.
  • Replay a level once you know it; changes stand out more on a second night.
