Julian & Friends is a psychological horror game dressed as an early-2000s point-and-click game for children. You help Julian and his friends prepare a surprise party through cutscenes and minigames, and the codes you enter at the start change the outcome, some of them loading corrupt data.
About Julian & Friends
Julian & Friends was released on Steam in January 2025 by JacksonG13 (JacksonGameStudios). It is built to look like the point-and-click computer games of the early 2000s, with bright 3D characters, a map to pick areas from and a cast of wacky friends, all fully voiced.
It is Julia's birthday, and you help Julian, who loves jumping and making friends, set up the perfect surprise party for her. You visit places around town and help Gerald at his shop, Darcy the dancer, Mr. Write the talking pencil and Princess Angelica with her frog choir, flying through space and sailing the sea along the way. Most of it plays like an interactive film of cutscenes and dialogue, with ten minigames such as drawing, dancing, driving and diving between them.
The horror is in what the cheerful surface hides. The game changes depending on the code you type at the start; codes unlock as you progress, and the store warns that some contain corrupt data and should be entered at your own risk. The makers call it psychological horror and warn of graphic and disturbing imagery, sensitive and dark topics, and that it is not for players with epilepsy or suicidal thoughts. There are multiple endings and unlockable secrets, and a streaming mode.
Players compare it to Amanda the Adventurer and say it gets under the skin. It suits players who like cheerful children's media turning wrong, as in Andy's Apple Farm or Shipwrecked 64.
