Not on Linux. Left Alone is on Steam and PC. It is not in the Linux part of the site you came from.

What frightens Searching for friends who vanished on a camping weekend in the Wisconsin forest, ex-soldier Joel Dent is drawn to Mount High School, abandoned and with a horrific past. Inside are dark corridors, blood on the floors, a wall daubed with 'He never lets you leave', and audio built room by room to raise the tension toward shocking moments.

Content: blood.

Left Alone is a first-person psychological horror game first released on Game Jolt by Volumetric Games and sold on Steam since 2016. You play Joel Dent, an ex-soldier whose camping weekend in Wisconsin ends with his friends missing and a trail leading to an abandoned high school. You solve puzzles and read the notes of former students to find out what happened there.

About Left Alone

Left Alone was made by two developers over two years, as its store page says, and first appeared on Game Jolt under the name Volumetric Games before going on sale on Steam in April 2016, where it is listed under SpeedTutor. Its Game Jolt page still links the Steam release and announces a remake, Left Alone: Rebirth, which has its own Steam page but no release date yet.

You are Joel Dent, an ex-military officer, recently divorced and still recovering from physical trauma. He and his best friends meet in the forests of Wisconsin for a weekend of camping, but strange goings-on lead him to Mount High School, abandoned and with a horrific past. The search for his friends takes him from the hiking trails into the school and the grounds around it.

You play in first person, exploring, reading clues, notes and memories left by past students and visitors, and solving puzzles to find traces of your friends. The store promises shocking moments throughout and audio designed separately for each area to build tension. The screenshots show the sunlit forest at the start, the red-brick school under a full moon, a laundry room with blood on the tiles, a power room with banks of switches, a security room full of monitors and a wall where someone has written in red that he never lets you leave.

It is a modest indie game, short on combat and long on atmosphere, and Steam players rate it Mostly Positive. It suits players who like exploring a single abandoned building, reading what was left behind and working out a mystery at their own pace.
