What frightens Haneko sneaks back into her school at night to fetch forgotten homework and finds something wrong with the building: an anomaly roams the dark halls seeking the souls of disobedient students, among blood-soaked beds and wrecked classrooms.
Content: blood, gore (pixelated), suicide.
Late Homework is a short retro survival horror game by sodaraptor. Student Haneko returns to her school at night to retrieve forgotten assignments, and has to search its dilapidated halls through fixed camera angles while an anomaly hunts disobedient students.
About Late Homework
Late Homework (also titled 遅れた宿題) began as a game jam entry by sodaraptor on itch.io and was expanded into a full release on Steam in October 2024, published by Raptorsoft Games.
Haneko, a cat-eared secondary school student, has forgotten her homework, and it is due tomorrow. Rather than fail the semester she goes back to school after dark to fetch it. But the building is not right. An anomaly walks the halls looking for the souls of disobedient students, and the classrooms, courtyard and infirmary are wrecked, dark and in places covered in blood.
It plays like the survival horror of the 32-bit era: fixed camera angles, tank controls and crunchy low-poly rooms lit by a single flashlight beam. You search for the scattered assignments, pick up keys and items, solve small puzzles such as placing an orb in a fountain statue, and try not to meet whatever is lurking around the corner. Objectives are randomized between runs, and there is an optional higher difficulty and hidden unlockables.
The heroine is cute and the store jokes that nothing bad will happen to her, but the store's own content note warns of pixelated blood, gore and suicide. It suits players who want a short, replayable fixed-camera horror game in an evening.
How to play Late Homework
- Enter the school at night and find a map.
- Search the rooms for your missing assignments and the items that open locked areas.
- Use tank controls: turn in place, then walk forward, and read each fixed camera angle for danger.
- Avoid the anomaly roaming the halls.
- Collect every assignment and get out, then replay for randomized objectives and unlockables.

Tips
- Grab the school map early; it makes searching for assignments much faster.
- Objectives shift between runs, so do not rely on memory of where things were last time.
- Fixed cameras hide corners, so slow down when a new angle cuts in.
- Try the optional higher difficulty once you know the building.
