What frightens Two small children cross a nightmare world called the Nowhere where enormous, grotesque Residents hunt them: a giant baby in a desert necropolis, swarms of weevils in a candy factory, heavy feet on a rain-soaked funfair. You run, hide and work together, and getting caught means a grim end.
Content: violence, depiction of suicide, disturbing imagery.
Little Nightmares III is a side-on horror adventure in which you play Low and Alone, two friends lost in a nightmare place called the Nowhere. Alone or with a friend online, you combine Low's bow and Alone's wrench to solve puzzles and slip past grotesque giants.
About Little Nightmares III
Little Nightmares III was made by Supermassive Games, the studio behind Until Dawn, and published by Bandai Namco in October 2025, taking over the series from its original makers. It came out on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Switch.
For the first time the series is built for two. Low carries a bow that can hit high targets, cut ropes and bring down flying enemies; Alone carries a wrench that smashes barriers, works machines and finishes off stunned foes. You play with a friend online, and only one of you needs to own the game, or alone with a computer partner.
The horror is the series' own: a world built at a child's height, where adults are huge and monstrous and every room is a trap. You hide from Monster Baby among the ruins of a necropolis, run from swarms of weevils in a candy factory and dodge the feet of the crowd at a filthy funfair, with flashes of something traumatic surfacing as you go.
It has divided players more than the first two games, and Steam reviews are mixed, but it suits fans of the series and anyone wanting a dark, wordless horror adventure to share with a friend.
How to play Little Nightmares III
- Choose to play online with a friend or alone with a computer partner.
- Play as Low with a bow or Alone with a wrench.
- Explore each area side-on, climbing, crawling and lifting each other over obstacles.
- Use the bow to hit high targets and the wrench to break barriers and work machines.
- When a Resident appears, hide and move only when it is not looking.
- Run when you are seen, and work together to reach the way out of each place.
