What frightens You are the Manager of a company that keeps monstrous Abnormalities in containment cells and harvests energy from them; you know nothing about each one until your employees work with it, and a wrong order can let one breach containment and slaughter staff, brainwash them or drive them insane, until one disaster leads to another.

Content: gore, violence, death.

Lobotomy Corporation is a roguelite monster-management simulation by ProjectMoon. As the Manager of a company that contains creatures called Abnormalities, you order employees to work with them to extract energy, learning by trial and error what each one wants, while breaches, insanity and brainwashing spread through the facility.

About Lobotomy Corporation

Lobotomy Corporation was made by ProjectMoon and released on Steam in April 2018. Its makers describe it as a roguelite monster-management simulation inspired by the SCP Foundation, The Cabin in the Woods and Warehouse 13, built on one question: what if those monsters were real, and your job were to manage them?

You are the Manager of Lobotomy Corporation, an energy company that isolates Abnormalities and extracts energy from them. Each day you order employees to perform work on the creatures in their Containment Units, gather energy to meet the quota and expand the facility across departments, helped by an AI named Angela.

You start with no information about any Abnormality. Your eyes, ears and the manual are the only hints, and you learn what work suits each creature by trial and error. Get it wrong and an Abnormality may breach containment, attack every employee in sight and open other units. Staff can be brainwashed, turn on each other or go insane from psychic trauma and ignore your orders. Its makers say one disaster leads to another until everything falls into chaos, and players tag it both cute and gory.

It is a demanding strategy game more than a scare-a-minute horror, with an ever-present tension and dread its makers aim for. It suits players who liked SCP stories and want horror they manage rather than flee.

How to play Lobotomy Corporation

  1. Buy it on Steam and run it on Windows.
  2. Each day, assign employees to work on Abnormalities in their containment cells.
  3. Watch the results and learn which kinds of work each Abnormality likes or hates.
  4. Gather enough energy to meet the daily quota and unlock new departments.
  5. When an Abnormality breaches, send armed staff to suppress it before the chaos spreads.

Tips

  • Read the manual and every observation note; information is your main weapon.
  • Keep an eye on your employees; serious psychic trauma can drive them insane and make them ignore your orders.
  • Expect to lose staff and days; trial and error is part of the design.
