MAZEBOUND: Hunt, Gather, Run! is a first-person survival horror game, solo or in online co-op, by Absam Studios. Trapped between the sea and a great walled maze, you craft torches and weapons, hunt and forage, and keep moving while starving creatures, some of which mimic people, hunt you.

About MAZEBOUND: Hunt, Gather, Run!

MAZEBOUND: Hunt, Gather, Run! was released on Steam in May 2026 by Absam Studios. You arrive with the sea behind you and a towering gate in front, and there is nowhere to go but into the maze. Nobody is there to guide you; the only allies are the friends you bring.

It plays as a survival game. You tear branches for torches, break crates for scraps, craft weapons from wood, stone and scrap, hunt animals, light fires, pick berries and build crude defences. Everything you carry, the store says, you earned. A crafting book in the camp lists axes, spears and clothing.

The horror is in what shares the maze with you. The store describes twisted beings shaped by hunger, curiosity or something worse: some crawl, some wait and some mimic what was once human. It warns you not to linger, to keep moving no matter what, and to expect to die a lot. Screenshots show a headless, emaciated figure lit by a torch among the trees and a giant hand reaching over the chained gate.

Players find it very creepy alone and enjoy it with friends, while some say the scares fade as it turns into a shopping list of materials, and report bugs and rough optimisation. Groups report finishing it in around six to eight hours. It suits players who like survival crafting and want something hunting them while they do it.

How to play MAZEBOUND: Hunt, Gather, Run!

Start alone or with friends at the camp between the sea and the maze gate.
Gather branches, stones and scraps and craft torches, tools and weapons.
Hunt animals, pick berries and light fires to keep yourself fed.
Enter the maze, find your way through it and collect what you need to progress.
Avoid or fight off the creatures that roam it, and keep moving instead of lingering.

Make light first; torches are what let you see what is waiting in the maze.
Do not stay in one spot too long; the store warns against it.
