As living sparks in fragile wooden bodies, you and your crew ride a cursed elevator into shifting underground ruins, smash furniture for resources, fight corrupted things and haul loot back to rebuild your outpost, as the Rot grows worse the deeper you go.

GRAIN ROT was made by Beck & Branch Games and released on Steam in August 2026 by Neem Interactive, for one player or a crew online. Its own page calls it co-op extraction horror with physics-driven chaos, and players tag it as horror and comedy alike.

You are a Living Spark inside a wooden vessel that can splinter, collapse and catch fire. With your crew you ride a cursed elevator down into procedurally shifting ruins, smash furniture for resources or feed it to the Grinder for gold, rescue survivors trapped in the deep, and bring everything back to rebuild your Outpost. If everyone breaks, your loot is lost.

When your vessel breaks, your Spark stays in the run and can force its way into another host with new abilities before it fades. The deeper layers are full of Corrupted vessels that react to sound and movement, and the deeper you go the worse the Rot becomes: bodies warp, voices distort, and even the emotes get stranger.

The tone is often funny, with friends dropkicking each other's sparks out of their bodies, but the ruins are dark and the things in them are grotesque. It suits groups who liked Lethal Company or R.E.P.O.
