In the last city on Earth, people who sleep disappear; as Katja you must stay awake, slip past death cults and their experiments, and solve the puzzles of a world coming apart. It is on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
About SLEEP AWAKE
SLEEP AWAKE is made by EYES OUT and published by Blumhouse Games, and came out on 2 December 2025. It is led by Cory Davis, director of Spec Ops: The Line, with sound and music by Robin Finck of Nine Inch Nails. The store calls it an immersive first-person psychedelic horror narrative that explores the realm between sleep and death.
The setting is the last known city on Earth. Those who fall asleep disappear in what people call the Hush, and nobody knows why. The survivors have split into dogmatic factions, each sure it has the one true way to stay awake, and their reckless experiments have warped the minds and bodies of the city's last citizens. You play Katja, who must stay awake, survive the devotees of these death cults and save the people she loves.
You have no weapons. The store says stealth and wits are your only tools: you keep out of sight of the cultists, avoid their experiments and solve the puzzles of a distorted reality. Between the dark streets and tenements the game breaks into dream-like sequences that mix hand-made environments, harsh colour, full-motion video and bending light, so it is often unclear what is real.
It suits players who like first-person psychological horror with a strong art direction and story, such as Observer or Karma: The Dark World, and stealth against human threats rather than combat. Players on Steam rate it Mostly Positive. The ESRB rates it Mature for blood, intense violence, strong language and drug use.
