Don't Play This is a first-person horror game by the small indie team Admia, a1esska and Notex, released on Steam in April 2026. The store gives it an approximate playtime of one to one and a half hours.

Its premise is a chain of recordings. People film what happens to them, to capture a moment, call for help or leave a trace, and sometimes the recording is the last thing they ever make. A friend starts sending you such videos without saying where they came from, and in each of them someone dies. Every episode puts you in that person's place for their final minutes.

The episodes are short and each has its own location and visual style: a car on a forest road at night under a red moon, a dark cabin lit by a fire, a cellar, an attic. The store describes it as a walking simulator with realistic graphics and 3D audio, and promises that in each place your own nightmare awaits: some threats are plain at once, others stay hidden until the very end. The store screenshots show grotesque creatures waiting in the dark.

It suits players who want a short, scary anthology for one evening, in the vein of found-footage horror. It warns of frequent violence or gore and flashing lights.

How to play Don't Play This

1. Buy it on Steam for Windows.
2. Open the next video your friend sends to start an episode.
3. Walk through the episode in first person, following what the person in the recording did.
4. Watch for threats, some of which only appear at the last moment.
5. Play the five episodes through to see where the videos lead.

Tips

• Play with headphones; the 3D audio warns you before you see anything.
• Play it in one evening with the lights off.
• Look around each location; the hidden threat is often in plain sight.
• Read the flashing-lights warning first if you are sensitive to it.
