About Fear & Hunger 2: Termina

Fear & Hunger 2: Termina is the sequel to Fear & Hunger by Finnish developer Miro Haverinen, released on Steam in December 2022. Like the first game it mixes Japanese RPG turn-based combat with survival horror resource management, and its art blends pixel art with digital painting. Its soundtrack includes tracks by Chilly Makes Music.

It is set in a fictional 1942 in Prehevil, a town based largely on Prague that still holds to ancient rites and macabre traditions. You are one of fourteen strangers who find themselves on its outskirts, forced to take part in the Festival of Termina, held once in every pale, sickly green moon. The moon watches and grins, and when the three days are over only one may walk away.

Eight characters are playable, each with their own playstyle and story. The world is open: you choose where to go and how to face its horrors, while the town changes with the time of day and the other contenders follow their own agendas. Combat lets you target limbs, and enemies can take yours. Every save moves time forward, so resting and saving have a cost. The store warns of explicit violence and gore, self-harm, sexual content and violence, child abuse and war atrocities.

It suits players who found the first game's cruelty compelling and want a larger, more open nightmare. It has three main endings, with variations.
