Human Construction Site is an RPG Maker survival horror game by Faesu, inspired by Ao Oni, Ib and Angels of Death. You wake in a locked cell with no memory and must find a way out of a strange facility full of other captives and monsters, through puzzles and chase scenes. It has five endings and takes two to three hours.

About Human Construction Site

Human Construction Site is a free survival horror game made in RPG Maker by Faesu, who names the classic RPG Maker horror games Ao Oni, Ib and Angels of Death as its inspiration. It has five endings and takes about two to three hours to finish.

It opens in a dark room. You wake up with a pounding head, bruised shoulders and no memory of how you got there. The air is thick and wet, the door is locked, and a container beside you holds a plant soaked in blood that is still warm. An old computer is linked to the machine you woke inside, and it demands a periodical specimen upload before it will open the gate. Then an anonymous message arrives: do not trust anyone.

From there you explore a facility of cells, hospital halls, flooded corridors and laboratories, meeting other captives with their own stories, some of them dangerous. You examine objects, solve puzzles to open doors and make choices, and when something starts chasing you, you run. Careless choices can kill you, so you will see game-over screens.

The maker warns of body horror, trypophobia and dark content. The browser version plays on this page; Windows and Mac downloads, a Spanish fan translation and hint files are on the itch.io page. The maker notes that the chase scenes are very hard on mobile, so play on a computer with a keyboard.

How to play Human Construction Site

  2. Press Z next to objects, doors and people to examine or talk to them, and X to open the menu.
  3. Search each room for items and clues, and use computers and switches to open the way forward.
  4. When a monster chases you, run and find a way to lose it.
  5. Save when you can and try different choices to reach the other endings.

  • Save often; chase scenes and some choices end in sudden deaths.

  • Keep Shift held during chases and plan your route through the room before you run.
  • The maker's hint files on the itch.io page help if you are stuck, and there is a separate spoiler file for the true ending.
