What frightens A livestream you never asked for shows a dark, grimy bathroom stall in green night vision; you type commands to the person behind the camera while the chat grows uneasy about what is behind them.

Content: mutilation (non-graphic), stalking, guns, mental distress.

A short puzzle horror game set inside a strange livestreaming app. You are gifted a subscription to a stream showing a dark bathroom stall, and by typing commands in the chat you tell the person on camera where to look and what to do. It plays like a text adventure with night-vision footage, and you can play it right here.

About FeedVid Live

FeedVid Live is a free puzzle game by Varun R., a standalone sequel to his earlier FeedVid. The two stories are not directly connected, so you can play either first. It runs in the browser and also comes as downloads for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android.

It opens on a phone app full of ordinary streams. Then you find yourself in a stream nobody seems to understand: a camera in a grimy public bathroom, filmed in green night vision, with a few other viewers asking what they are looking at. Like an old text adventure, you type short commands such as where to go or what to look at, and the streamer acts on them while the viewer count rises.

The horror is in what the camera shows and what it does not. The picture is dark and grainy, details are scratched into the walls, and the chat keeps noticing things just out of frame. The maker warns of non-graphic mutilation, stalking, guns and mental distress. Players note it builds unease rather than relying on jumpscares.

It suits players who like escape rooms, parser games and found-footage horror, and who want something that fits into half an hour. If a puzzle stops you, hints and solutions sit under the gear icon in the game.

How to play FeedVid Live

  1. Start the game and open the stream you are invited to.
  2. Read the chat and look at what the camera shows.
  3. Type a command in the chat box, such as a place or object to go to or inspect, and press Enter.
  4. Use clues found on camera to work out the codes and puzzles.
  5. If you are stuck, open the gear icon for hints and solutions.

Tips

  • Keep commands short: name the place or object the chat highlights.
  • Words shown in colour in the chat are things you can interact with.
  • Write down any marks or numbers you see on the walls.
  • Play in a dark room with sound on; the picture is very dim.
