You bought an old PC at a garage sale and did not bother to wipe it. last seen online starts the moment you switch it on: a desktop full of folders, a music player, photos and messages from someone you have never met. Everything you learn about them comes from what they left behind.

It plays as a point and click escape room in the style of early flash games. Passwords hide in photos, clues sit in song titles and old chats, and each puzzle opens another corner of the machine. Its makers, qwook and sochinstudio, released it on itch.io in December 2023, and it has since come to Steam as well.

The horror is quiet and personal. A computer is an extension of the person who used it, and reading through one feels like trespassing. The cheerful, glittery desktop sits uneasily beside what you start to piece together, and the itch.io page warns that it is not for children or those easily disturbed.

It suits players who like puzzles and found-footage stories more than jump scares, and it runs right in the browser in about an hour.

How to play last seen online

1. Click into the game frame to start the old computer.
